The
Loughshore Trail is known as Route 94 of the National Cycle Network
and is a bi-directional 113 mile cycle route that encircles Lough Neagh.
Lough Neagh itself lies at the very heart of Mid- Ulster and is the ideal
destination for a cycling break suitable for families and enthusiasts alike.
The Loughshore Trail is a unique cycleway, not only because of its location
but because it uses quiet country lanes and consists of mainly flat terrain.
As well as providing breathtaking views the trail also incorporates over
25 major sites of interest including marinas, nature reserves, parks and
sites of archaeological interest. Many of the sites along the route host
interpretation panels providing information about the Trail, local history
and flora and fauna. The trail will enable you to sample first hand the
diverse culture and heritage of the Lough Neagh Region as well as allowing
you to visit the natural and man made environment using the many miles of
quiet lanes that run alongside or close to the shoreline.
